Each day I feel blessed to have been born in New Zealand, even better that it was Nelson! Fond childhood memories of beautiful Ruby Bay growing up around apple and fruit trees, lambs running in the back paddock, pigs & chooks to feed - what a great way to grow up.

Eventually moving to Richmond for Intermediate and College, finishing 6 form Certificate I decided Beauty Therapy was the career for me, so I headed to Auckland to the Joyce Blok Institute of Beauty Therapy School (mum decided if I was far away I wouldn't spend many weekends traveling home being homesick, but actually it was the best school I could have attended, so thanks mum!). After a very intense year, I completed my training and developed some hands-on experience by working at About Face in Henderson for Marianna Glucina for the next 3 years.

Back to Nelson - time to get serious save some $$$ and establish a client base, over these following years I eventually meet the man of my dreams - Scotty, giving me a ready-made family with his boy James. We then purchased our first business Elegance Beauty Salon (owned for three years) in that time had two children, then sold to spend more time at home and started a small home-based business About Beauty Studio in 2003. Later along came our last little baby girl, so we now have four beautiful children James, Jessica, Cameron and Brooklyn.

As the family grew the business grew, what now? Well Scott decided he didn't want us taking over the garage so a new premise had to be a good answer! About Beauty at Monaco was born in March 2009!

Over the years I have attended advanced training courses, product knowledge in many brands working with some great skincare ranges, plus gained valuable experience looking after my clients giving them the best I can. I have also been the Makeup Designer and Consultant for World of WearableArts from 2000 - 2013 so have developed a strong passion for Makeup, a must see show if you haven't been!

Now I enjoy passing my experience on to my staff to offer to you the very best in Beauty and Wellbeing!

2020/2021 was a challenging and difficult time for us for many reasons, just like many others have experienced and now Scott and I are only joint by being the parents to our young adult kids and now.... lovely grandkids.

In April 2024 I'm excited to announce I'm now the sole owner of About Beauty and am looking forward to create new growth and see the salon flourish with some new goals and visions for our clients, and my fabulous team! Our skin is so amazing and its worth looking after!
